Plumbing Coverage

Water Heater Coverage

When your showers run cold or the tank starts weeping, you call us — water heater faults get diagnosed before a utility-room flood.

Which plan covers this

Repairs to your water heater are covered only on the Whole Home Repair plan, for future failures after the waiting period and up to the plan's limits. The HVAC Maintenance plan ($19.99/mo) covers seasonal tune-ups, not repairs.

What is water heater coverage?

Water heater coverage protects the tank or related water-heating equipment—elements or burners, controls, valves, and tank integrity. MyHappyHome™ membership covers diagnosis and plan-eligible repairs so lukewarm showers or a leaking tank become a vetted plumber visit, not a flooded utility room. Coverage is about keeping hot water available and containing failures before they soak flooring.

When should you call for water heater coverage?

Call for water that never gets hot, runs hot then cold mid-shower, or arrives rusty from the tank. Call immediately for any moisture at the tank base, a T&P valve that drips steadily, or rumbling that suggests heavy sediment. A tank leak is not a “monitor it” situation—shut the cold supply if safe and call promptly.

What usually fails?

Electric heaters lose lower or upper elements and thermostats; gas heaters lose thermocouples, gas valves, and burners fouled by dust. Anode rods deplete and tanks begin internal corrosion that eventually weeps at seams. Dip tubes break and send cold inlet water straight to the top outlet. Temperature and pressure relief valves weep from age or excess pressure. Sediment insulating the tank bottom causes overheating noise and early tank failure.
