HVAC Maintenance & Tune-Ups
Seasonal HVAC tune-ups are part of the HVAC Maintenance plan — coil cleaning, drain clearing, and safety checks before mid-season breakdowns start.
Which plan covers this
Seasonal tune-ups are part of the HVAC Maintenance plan ($19.99/mo). That plan does not cover repairs. Repairs are covered only on the Whole Home Repair plan.
What is HVAC maintenance and tune-up coverage?
HVAC maintenance and tune-up coverage keeps seasonal service on the calendar—coil cleaning, electrical checks, drain clearing, and safety inspections—under MyHappyHome™ membership. Tune-ups are preventive coverage for the same heating and cooling equipment that fails mid-season when filters, drains, and capacitors are ignored. The point is scheduled care before peak load, not a repair after the house is already uncomfortable.
When should you call for HVAC maintenance and tune-ups?
Schedule cooling tune-ups in spring and heating tune-ups in fall, before the first extreme weather week of each season. Call sooner if you skipped last year’s service, recently moved into a home with unknown equipment history, or noticed rising runtime even though the system still “works.” Do not wait until the first 95°F afternoon to discover a clogged condensate drain.
What usually fails?
Without tune-ups, evaporator coils load with dust and cut capacity until ice forms. Condensate drains biofilm-clog and trip float switches or overflow into ceilings. Outdoor coils pack with cottonwood and grass, raising head pressure. Capacitors drift out of range and fail on the first hot start. Furnaces accumulate ignition residue that causes lockouts on cold mornings. Maintenance catches those progressive faults while they are still service items.
