Electrical Coverage

Internal Electrical System

When a circuit dies or a receptacle sparks, you call us — we cover breakers, receptacles, and branch wiring inside your home.

Which plan covers this

Repairs to your internal electrical system are covered only on the Whole Home Repair plan, for future failures after the waiting period and up to the plan's limits. The HVAC Maintenance plan ($19.99/mo) covers seasonal tune-ups, not repairs.

What is internal electrical system coverage?

Internal electrical system coverage focuses on the wiring, breakers, and devices between the meter and the loads inside the home—the branch-circuit layer that powers lights, receptacles, and appliances. MyHappyHome™ membership covers repairs in that layer when circuits fail, overheat, or refuse to hold under normal use. It is the practical middle of the electrical system: everything you depend on indoors.

When should you call for internal electrical system help?

Call when the same breaker trips under loads that used to be fine, receptacles spark when a plug is inserted, or a room goes dead while neighboring circuits still work. Call for flickering that follows a specific circuit, or for GFCI devices that will not reset. Intermittent dead outlets often mean a failed backstab or loose wirenut in a daisy chain—those worsen until heat damage appears.

What usually fails?

Daisy-chained receptacles lose continuity at loose wirenuts or backstabs, killing everything downstream. Shared kitchen or laundry circuits overload when modern appliances draw more than the original design assumed. AFCI breakers trip on damaged cords or aging cable faults that need tracing. Three-way switch travelers fail and leave hall lights unpredictable. Junction boxes buried behind renovations overheat when splices were never listed for the load.

How MyHappyHome™ coverage helps
