What is a waiting period?

A waiting period is the stretch of time after enrolling in a home warranty or repair plan before the first covered repair request can be filed. Breakdowns that happen during the waiting period are not covered. It keeps a plan from being bought only after something fails, which helps keep pricing fair for every member.

Why it matters to you

MyHappyHome™ has a 30-day waiting period, counted from your enrollment date, before your first covered service request. Joining while everything still works is what makes the plan useful.

Practical guidance

Note the date your waiting period ends. If a system is already acting up, have it looked at now rather than waiting out the 30 days, because a problem that started before coverage is not covered.
