Central Heating Repair
When your furnace won't heat, you call us — ignition, inducer, and heat-exchanger issues get handled before a cold night turns into a hotel stay.
Which plan covers this
Repairs to your furnace or central heating are covered only on the Whole Home Repair plan, for future failures after the waiting period and up to the plan's limits. The HVAC Maintenance plan ($19.99/mo) covers seasonal tune-ups, not repairs.
What is central heating repair coverage?
Central heating repair coverage protects the furnace or central heating plant that warms the home through ducted air—gas or electric heat, the ignition train, and the blower. MyHappyHome™ coverage means a no-heat morning is a vetted tech visit under plan terms, not an open-ended emergency invoice. It covers the heating side of comfort when lockouts or blower faults leave rooms cold.
When should you call for central heating repair?
Call on the first morning the furnace fails to stay lit, cycles every few minutes, or blows cold air after the call for heat. Call immediately for a burning smell at the furnace, repeated pressure-switch lockouts, or a carbon monoxide detector that chirps near the equipment. Waiting through another night often destroys igniters that were still salvageable after the first lockout.
What usually fails?
Hot-surface igniters crack after thermal cycling. Flame sensors coat with oxide and drop the flame on a false “no flame” reading. Inducer motors fail to prove draft, so the control board locks out. Limit switches open when filters choke airflow across the heat exchanger. Older furnaces can show cracked heat exchangers that require shutdown. Electric furnaces more often lose sequencers and heating elements.
