Add-on coverage is optional protection bought on top of a base home repair plan for equipment the base plan leaves out, such as a well pump, septic system, pool equipment, or a second refrigerator. Each add-on carries its own price and is covered only when the homeowner elects it at enrollment or later.

Walk your property and list the equipment a standard plan would skip, especially a private well, a septic system, or a garage door opener. Add coverage only for the items your home actually has.
